Joseph Fidanque III´s Tocumen S.A. Administration did not spare neither the purchase of toilet paper. Large volumes of this product were directly acquired last year, without going through a bidding process that would have made it possible to get better prices.
A purchase order by Tocumen S.A. revealed that on August 11, 2015, Corporación Las Antillas S.A. received a direct contract for $164 thousand 975 for 6 thousand 500 boxes of toilet paper and 3 thousand boxes of towel paper.
Meanwhile, on 15 October, Tocumen S.A. made a direct purchase to Importadora Transmundi S.A. by 65 thousand 916 dollars. In this purchase were acquired thousand 250 boxes of toilet paper and paper towel 550 boxes.
Furthermore, some documents reveal that only between July and September 2015, the general manager of Tocumen S.A. ordered and paid 89 thousand 459 dollars for the rental of 8 cars Toyota Prado, 13 Toyota Hilux and 6 Toyota Yaris, all of which were to be used by staff of the international airport of Panama. It was another case of direct contract by Tocumen S.A. awarded to Inter Marketing Inc.
But in addition to bearing the costs of transport for part of the administrative staff of Tocumen S.A., Fidanque also hired directly company Adventure 2000 for the transport of personnel in Rio Hato airport.
Only for the period between April 1 and July 31, 2015, Tocumen S.A. paid 183 thousand dollars for the transport of personnel in Rio Hato.
Official sources revealed that there are other contracts for car rental and transport services that have not yet been revealed by Tocumen S.A., which could have doubled up the expenses that are so far known in this expenditure line.
In March 2015, Tocumen S.A. also made a direct contract for buses for the transport of its personnel. It was a contract for 263 thousand dollars granted to Bering Motors, a company of the Machetazo group, for 4 Hyundai Motors buses with a capacity for 31 passengers.
