Court denies bail to former Minister De Lima

The Second Superior Court denied bail to release the former Minister of Economy and Finance, Frank De Lima.

The decision was taken by Judge Wilfredo Sáenz , confirming the judgment of the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Penal had taken, in the first instance to deny the application for bail .

This ruling of the Second Superior Court of Justice is in response to an appeal that brought the lawyer Eduardo Sequeira , defense of De Lima.

The former minister has been 9 months in detention after being accused of willful embezzlement for allegedly authorizing splitting grain purchases through the National Assistance Program (PAN ) .

For these same practices it has been alleged that government officials who remain in office.
