Former President Ricardo Martinelli, through a letter, exposed the intentions behind his third nomination in the contest "Exposing corruption," Transparency International (TI).

In the letter sent by the former president, he claims that, unfortunately, IT no one has contacted his press office to a rebuttal of the allegations made in "unmasking the corrupt".

In defense of his image, Martinelli, in the first instance, said that of the 26 references to footnotes that support the case against him in its summary, 11, or more than 40% report come from two Panamanian sources: newspaper La Prensa and national news channel TVN.

"It happens that these two media are the ones who have taken the scoop on the news of my alleged mismanagement in the vast majority of cases," said the deputy also Parlacen.

For this reason, the president asks whether the association of this first chapter of Panama flat IT has something to do with inclusion in "unmasking the corrupt".

"Of course, I stand as the only democratically elected head of state mentioned in the report, and the only one left power in a fully democratic transition," he added.

He added that none of the facts alleged against him have been checked in or out of the court of law, despite the extensive media coverage it has received in Panama.

Finmeccanica was another issue touched by Martinelli in the letter, which said it was an embarrassment to the current government spin, after reaching a follow-up agreement with Italian manufacturer, so it had to admit that nothing bad had happened.

"This scandal international corruption has been an ordeal that has lasted for 18 months, which has made my country has been vilified internationally and my former Minister of Security Jose Raul Mulino is thrown into jail on remand" he said.

At the end of his speech, Martinelli recommends and leaves the task of this organization to bring more transparency to exercises such as the "unmasking corrupt" competition.

"We suffer the fate of my country and many innocent people caught in the intriguing frenzy and the thirst for revenge of some of my old buddies (Dulcidio, Meliton Arrocha, Juan Carlos Varela, Luis Carles and Roberto Roy)," he said.

Finally, regarding his whereabouts, he reiterated that lives in an apartment dating back to 1980 in Miami, which is a safe haven for your family, acquired during the worst years of the dictatorship of Noriega, as a place to escape from Panama if it became too dangerous to live country.

"I have been forced to self-exile imposed by the system of Panamanian justice which you should doubt their independence, balance and respect for due process," said the president of Transparency International, on request for a clarification of its link to competition.
