The extradition request against the young entrepreneur Mayer Mizrachi Matalon is poised to be denied by the Supreme Court of Justice of Colombia.
This is because, according to the lawyer Silvio Guerra, the crimes credited to Mizrachi Matalon are not an penal type in Colombia.
"In Panama is being accused for breach of contract, tort that is not defined as such in Colombia", Guerra said in characterizing the extradition request against Mizrachi as a hoax.
According to Guerra, the extradition request was ill-conceived and ultimately will entail cost the Panamanian State .
Furthermore, the commentator Juan Carlos Tapia last night called the arrest of Mizrachi a crime, because in his view he has committed no crime and urged the current administrator of the Authority of Government Innovation (AIG), Irvin Halman, to withdraw the complaint or recommend that it be granted a different injunction to remand the young Panamanian businessman.
Tapia said the case looks more like revenge by someone from the Government and is an injustice committed.
Mizrachi was arrested at Cartagena, Colombia, on December 30, following a complaint filed by Halman.
