The Mizrachi Mayer Matalon extradition request, that Panama formalized to Colombia, does not meet the formal requisitions of international law, fully recognized in the neighboring country .

This was explained to Panama America by the lawyer Silvio Guerra, legal defense of the Panamanian businessman .

Guerra calls "legal hoax" the process that local authorities in turn bet to. They have set his sights on Mizrachi and claim to our country to stand trial for alleged irregularities in the performance of a contract for improvement and digitizing systems communication security sectors.

"¡False! Mayer did not failed the contract in any way; in fact, it is documented that it complied fully and properly", he said flatly in the lawyer Silvio Guerra.

Even if an irregularity were proven, as claimed by the prosecution in Panama, such action in most countries of the region would not go beyond an administrative offense, and in any case the attribution of crime".

But there is not such an offense; I insist on this: Mayer Mizrachi fulfilled the contract," the lawyer Guerra reiterated.

He added that "in Colombia have made it clear that an emerging from a contract , where it is also evident that he was fully achieved " no legal support.

Reason why in Colombia there are requests to the Attorney General's Office, to the Ministry of the Interior and to the Foreign Ministry for the Panamanian request is rejected for not meeting the formal requisitions Colombian procedural law, which like all the requested country requires the minimum requirement of dual criminality.

Something that is not feasible in this case explained to this media Mizrachi 's lawyer, because "it does not qualify as a crime in Panama or Colombia", hence the argument that the international standard is not met.

Background

And no crime involved, reflects Guerra, what left is considered only other terms where is strictly legal is absent.

Such is the case of political persecution, which in repetitive manner was held to the current administration, and its connections to Mayer Mizrachi, “it would be an unfair, improper and illegal persecution", according to his lawyer.

Guerra concluded noting that these legal wrongs, being that transcend the strictly legal competition, they fail to make him feel tied. "On the contrary, more awake to combat what that looks right, but that is just the trivial to harm the honor and dignity of a Panamanian whose argument should feel proud" .
