Politician drug dealers are targeted, says Aguilera

Security Minister, Rodolfo Aguilera, revealed yesterday that  they are "investigating" cases of politicians allegedly linked to drug trafficking, but gave no names.

Aguilera statements given after President Juan Carlos Varela himself said that there are legislators with ties to drug trafficking, although the president also revealed names.

"If he (Varela) as an official is aware that there are drug dealers in the Assembly and he does not report, he commits a crime," warned Mirones.

El exviceministro de Gobierno y experto en seguridad Severino Mejía afirmó que en este gobierno todavía no se ha asumido la seguridad como un tema de Estado. “Tampoco se ha incluido al ciudadano, que es parte importante de esa política”, señaló.
