Former president Martinelli is recovering from his heart surgery

Political persecution that for a year has denounced former President of the Republic Ricardo Martinelli has brought its consequences.

This is explained with the surgery the former president underwent on Monday, after presenting a delicate heart condition.

Fortunately, Martinelli is recovering, after doctors at the hospital of the University of Miami, in the United States, had practiced cardiac surgery, which was performed successfully.

However, the condition of Martinelli's care, as this was the second procedure was performed because his medical study found that 100% had blocked the main artery of the heart.

Last Friday, February 12, a first intervention was attempted without success.

Because of this, the doctors decided to leave the hospital until yesterday, when this second surgery was performed.

He underwent an angioplasty and 3 vascular.

Now, the president Martinelli is in recovery room.

"We thank all Panamanians by the affection and keep an eye on the health of the president," he said his spokesman announced, Luis Eduardo Camacho.

Earlier, the wife of the former president, Marta Linares de Matinelli, wrote in his Twitter account that the family is going through tough times, but he continued to acknowledge the support it has received from the Panamanian population.

Despite the sensitivity of the operation, before entering surgery, Ricardo Martinelli went to the Panamanian people through a video released in their social networks.

"We are going foward; go foward, work for Panama, want this country as I want it", said former President Martinelli to go to the Panamanian people.

A very positive Martinelli, lying on the stretcher, said he has a "big" heart that wants this people and proved it by making a Panama government changed for the better.

"Panamanian people, I am here, ready to open up my heart, that big heart, I want my people, and I sincerely give you everything I have for my Panamanian people; we had a government (with) to change Panama, did well, "said Martinelli.

The politician and businessman, who is outside the country to suffer what he calls political persecution, through rigged court records, repeated his good wishes for the Panamanian people.

"I Know that Panama is a country that will never go wrong because Panama is like a cork, always go forward Panamanians" he said.

Martinelli regretted that there is political persecution, not only against him but against all critics of the government and especially against members of the opposition Cambio Democrático (CD ) .
