Link between Varela and Torrijos had to do with contracts and business

Martín Torrijos respaldó candidatura de presidente del panameñismo

En el año 2014 y durante la última campaña política, el expresidente de Panamá Martín Torrijos lideró un bloque que mostró su apoyo incondicional a los varelistas.

Torrijos, al igual que el presidente Varela, fue financiado en su campaña política por el empresario Stanley Motta.

Incluso Torrijos se mueve a lo interno del PRD buscando apoyo para nuevamente aspirar a la Presidencia de la República, ello sería también con el apoyo de los panameñistas.

Para este fin, primero se buscaría acabar con la popularidad de Cambio Democrático (CD) y sus distintas figuras. Incluso se excusa una repartición de cargos y puestos políticos en nombre de la gobernabilidad del país.
