Counting on a Department of Legal Services, like any public institution, the Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) has hired a law firm to handle the case of young businessman Mayer Mizrachi.
Journalist Juan Carlos Tapia, in his political commentary program The Best of Boxing, said that this was the first mistake he has made as the manage of AIG, Irvin Halman, perhaps "lack of experience".
"A no officer is allowed to hire private lawyers, unless it were approved by the Cabinet," Tapia said.
The complaint against Mizrachi was given to the Public Ministry in January 2015, while still holding talks with the young Innovator to continue the implementation of Criptext, secure messaging program.
For Tapia, in this case the government loses credibility, while seen as a "despicable crime and" what they have done to the young entrepreneur, who said his grandparents are billionaires and has no need to steal money from anyone .
Mizrachi is in custody in Colombia since last December 30.
The government has formalized its request for extradition, but still no response from the authorities of the South American country.
His lawyer Silvio Guerra warned that the charges credited to Mizrachi not constitute a crime in Colombia, so is likely not appropriate extradition.
"In Panama is being accused for breach of contract, tort that is not defined as such in Colombia," said the lawyer.
Halman, in recent statements, agreed that Mizrachi fulfilled its part of the contract to deliver the program. However, he noted that, although the purpose of the contract, Eduardo Jaen, AIG exadministrador, decided to install the application in the state and not in the security sectors.
This was what prompted the complaint filed in January 2015, after the internal audit performed by the entity in which it was found that there was no evidence that these entities had requested such tools or communication recorded in the AIG, that the licenses had been installed in those areas, said the current ruler of the authority.
