Former President Martin Torrijos is involved in the Cemis case said yesterday the former president Ernesto Perez Balladares.
Balladares, who ruled Panama from 1994 to 1999, said that through a personal research he found that Torrijos is linked directly to one of the most notorious political scandals in recent years form.
"I investigated at the time by my own interest, because Martin has always said that he had absolutely nothing to do with the issue of Cemis" said "El Toro" in Telemetro news.
Balladares, who maintains an internal struggle for power with Torrijos of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), said he has strong evidence against the son of General Omar Torrijos.
"I did my research that pointed me something contrary to what he is saying", he said.
However, the tests referred by Perez Balladares were dismissed by the courts because , audios and interviews of witnesses were made without the consent of the same.
"There was a judge who was investigating ... I did deliver some of the evidence I had, and then at the end, were not legal evidence because they were not recorded with the consent of the people who said that.
"The politician said that through their testimony, corroborated that Torrijos was "who sent the money to be distributed" to several members of the National Assembly to approved a law that would create the Multimodal Industrial Services Center (CEMIS) in Colon for a cost of 400 million dollars.
