The dialogue between the traffic and land transport authority (ATTT) and the unions of taxi drivers, after a confrontation on the streets yesterday, ended without agreements, according to the authorities, although some spokesmen for the drivers said otherwise.
Julio González, director of the ATTT, denied the existence of the agreement on the operation of Uber, pointing out that no determination was made because there is a process to be yet resolved.
Prior to the statement of the director of the ATTT, representative of taxi drivers of tourism, Victor Ramos, had pointed out, after the meeting, that it was agreed that über vehicles, starting today, could not operate in shopping malls, airports or hotels.
"We reiterate that a legal proceedings against the platform is a state of resolution; any action or determination has not been taken in this regard", said Gonzalez.
The meeting between the ATTT and selective drivers and tourism delegation was given after a confrontation yesterday morning.
According to the drivers, it had been agreed that, starting today, vehicles assigned to über would be forbidden to operate in shopping malls, hotels and airports in the country, ban whose compliance that the direction of street traffic operations authorities must ensure.
